Beginning Monday, April 1, the pedestrian bridge, sidewalk, and right eastbound lane on South Arlington Mill Road will close between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The bridge itself is being manufactured offsite and will be installed in late summer or early fall of 2024.

"This project will build a new 15-foot-wide bicycle and pedestrian, prefabricated steel bridge across Four Mile Run, to provide for an effective and safe bicycle and pedestrian access," county documents show.

"The other improvements will include streetlighting, median, sidewalk and crosswalk retrofits, as well as a new Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB)."
